Description
A bar of delicious chewy caramel and crunchy cereal pieces placed on a biscuit for an extra crunch, all coated in smooth milk chocolate. TOFFEE CRISP is the crunchy, chewy crunch you simply can't resist! Originally created by Mackintosh's. TOFFEE CRISP was launched on the UK market in 1963.
The idea for the TOFFEE CRISP bar came from John Henderson, the great-nephew of John Mackintosh, who adapted a cake recipe made by his late wife Edith for their children. The recipe used a combination of crispy rice pieces and chocolate cake, but when he initially submitted samples to the board, it was felt that something more was needed. After further development, a soft caramel was added on top and with its unique combination of textures with crispy cereal pieces, soft caramel and smooth milk chocolate, the TOFFEE CRISP was born.
TOFFEE CRISP bars were originally produced at MacKintosh's Halifax factory, but in 2012 production moved to Newcastle, where they continue to be manufactured to this day.
In the 1980s and 1990s, a series of television commercials each ended with the slogan "Someone, somewhere has a Toffee Crisp".
TOFFEE CRISP contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
